Why Choose to Ski in Grisons, Switzerland?

Grisons is a Canton in Switzerland which is famous for its unrivalled Alpine scenery and world-class skiing.
Home to some of Switerland’s most popular ski resorts, contained within Grisons is Saint Moritz, Flims, Laax and Davos, and many more.

The largest of Switzerland’s Cantons at 7105km², this mostly German-speaking region has a truly unique cultural mix of both language and cultural influence. Whilst remaining strongly Swiss in personality, the diversity of dialect and lifestyle leads to a truly unique atmosphere. Interestingly, despite being such a large area of Switzerland (17.2% of the country's surface), it accounts for less than 3% of the total population. This is due to the lack of large, populated areas, which gives Grisons an unspoilt feel.

Saint Moritz

A chic ski resort which is known as the ski resort of choice of the rich and famous, Saint Moritz played host to the Winter Olympics in 1928 and 1948. Just 15km from the village is Piz Bernina, the highest summit in the Eastern Alps. The mild climate ensures that the resort enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year.

Davos

Known for hosting the World Economic Forum (WEF), Davos is also a haven for skiers. One of Switzerland’s biggest ski resorts, the region of Davos has 320km of ski slopes, and the largest natural ice-skating field.

Weisse Arena (Flims, Laax and Falera)

Getting its name from the Flimserstein, a mountain also known as the Fil de Cassons, Flims is a known as much for its spas and for its skiing. So, if you are looking to relax, it could be the perfect choice. The region is the definition of charming, with the most glorious landscapes and architecture. The mountains north of Flims are listed as an UNESCO world heritage site.
