Every year, there’s something for everyone: traditional competitions like the Ski World Cup on the most stunning slopes, as well as spectacular events such as the SFR Freestyle Tour and the X Games. Don’t wait until the last minute to plan—be sharp on your edges and ready to go!
Here you are, all set and ready to indulge in the pleasures of skiing. So don’t miss the first major event of the season: La Grande Première, taking place on 26th and 27th November in Val Thorens. It promises an unforgettable weekend packed with so many activities you won’t want to miss a single one.
The Ski Cross World Cup in Val Thorens will follow from 5th to 10th December, marking its fifth edition with breathtaking performances.
Next up, Ski & Boarder Week offers a dream week from 10th to 16th December, with a daily wristband costing just around €25 per person—an incredible deal for an unparalleled event.
In the meantime, you’ll have the pleasure of following the skiing elite across Europe’s most iconic resorts during the Alpine Ski World Cup 2017, running from 22nd October to 19th March 2017. Perhaps we’ll even have another champion like Alexis Pinturault! This primarily European competition will take you from legendary sites like Val d’Isère and Courchevel all the way to the United States, Canada, and South Korea—a true world tour of the most stunning ski destinations.
Finally, don’t forget the Enduro des Trois Vallées, rewarding the most daring at the end of the season on 2nd April 2017. This event welcomes pros, amateurs, and families alike, each competing in their preferred category—a perfect way to wrap up the season in style, without a single regret.
Hit the slopes to follow the season’s top ski events!

So that the ski season is complete and full of fun, it’s important to enjoy activities off the slopes as well. Why not catch a film at the 4th edition of the Freeride Film Festival in Cauterets from December 15 to 17, which showcases skiing and snowboarding in all their forms? It’s a spectacle where you can stay seated yet keep your heart racing.
Also in Cauterets, the peaks will come alive with pop-rock sounds during Garosnow, the winter sibling of Garorock, a must-attend for all fans of contemporary music. On February 3 and 4, 2017, you can swap your ski stance for some lively dance moves.
La Clusaz gets festive too: for Christmas and New Year’s, events like the Pestacles de la Clusaz will delight the little ones and bring their parents along for shows to enjoy together.
Later in the season, La Clusaz will host the 5th edition of its Radio Meuh Circus Festival, created by Philippe Thévenet, with 3 live concert nights under a big top and 5 days of DJ sets to keep you entertained on the slopes from March 29 to April 2. The festival’s success matches the reputation of its founder, whose independent web radio has now made a name beyond Savoie.
Let’s not forget the New Year’s celebrations in Val Thorens, letting you step into 2017 without slipping on icy patches.
