Located in the heart of the Salzburg Alps, Saalbach Hinterglemm is one of Austria’s largest and most varied ski destinations. The resort combines two lively Alpine villages with an extensive interconnected ski area, modern lifts and a wide range of slopes for beginners, families and experienced skiers.

Saalbach Hinterglemm is part of the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, offering 270 km of slopes and 70 lifts. The ski area includes 140 km of blue slopes, 112 km of red slopes and 18 km of black slopes, providing plenty of variety for every level

Beyond skiing, the resort is known for its mountain huts, snowparks, freeride opportunities and lively après-ski scene. With slopes connecting Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn, visitors can spend the entire day exploring the mountains without having to follow the same route twice.

Events not to be missed in Saalbach Hinterglemm

Mountain Attack

On 15 January 2027, Saalbach Hinterglemm will host the 29th Mountain Attack, one of the toughest ski touring races in the Alps. More than 1,000 athletes will set off after dark to cross six mountain summits and complete up to 3,008 metres of elevation gain. Visitors can watch the spectacular start in the centre of Saalbach, follow the race live and welcome the competitors at the finish line while enjoying music and a lively mountain atmosphere.

Dutchweek Kick-Off

From 20 to 24 January 2027, the Dutchweek Kick-Off will combine skiing, music and entertainment throughout Saalbach Hinterglemm. During the day, visitors can explore the slopes of the Skicircus before enjoying live performances, DJ sets and après-ski parties at selected mountain venues. With its lively atmosphere and varied programme, Dutchweek is an ideal event for groups of friends looking to combine a ski holiday with festive experiences in the Austrian Alps.

White Pearl Mountain Days

From 19 to 28 March 2027, the White Pearl Mountain Days will celebrate spring skiing across the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. The programme combines sunny days on the slopes with international DJs, live performances, culinary experiences and wellness activities. Visitors can enjoy music on panoramic terraces, discover regional and international dishes or take part in yoga and fitness sessions surrounded by snow-covered peaks.

How to get to Saalbach Hinterglemm?

By train By train

The nearest major railway station is Zell am See. From there, regular bus and transfer connections provide access to Saalbach Hinterglemm.

Travelling via Zell am See makes it possible to reach the resort by public transport without needing a car.

By car By car

Saalbach Hinterglemm is accessible by road through the Salzburg region. From Salzburg, follow the main routes towards Zell am See before continuing into the Glemmtal valley towards Saalbach and Hinterglemm.
Once in the resort, local ski buses make it easy to travel between the villages and the main ski lifts.

By plane By plane

Salzburg Airport is the closest major international airport to Saalbach Hinterglemm. From the airport, visitors can continue to the resort by shuttle, private transfer or car.

Munich Airport is another option for international travellers, with onward road and rail connections towards the Salzburg region.
