Why Choose to Ski in La Rosière?

Located just a few minutes from Italy, La Rosière is a proudly ‘franco-italian’ ski resort in southeastern France.

In the Savoie department of Montvalezan, it is a small family-friendly resort just a stone’s throw from larger resorts Val-d'Isère and Les Arcs. As such, La Rosière offers a unique point of view. You can enjoy a more intimate environment with fewer crowds, while still having access to 150km of skiable areas, with a diverse number of green, blue, red and black slopes.

The resort is attractive, with a noticeable lack in high-rise apartment buildings, and an abundance of authentic architecture and stone ski chalets. Architecture is carefully regulated in the resort, to conserve the unspoilt, traditional Alpine village feel.

At 1,850m above sea level and 2,642m at its highest accessible peak, this charming French ski resort gives ideal skiing conditions and stunning views over the neighbouring resort of Les Arcs. With such high altitudes, the ski resort guarantees snow cover from the beginning of December until the End of April. As such, you can relish in the joys of skiing for longer. The south-facing location means that La Rosière can boast sunshine-covered slopes throughout the day.

The resort is just 30 minutes' drive from Eurostar station Bourg Saint Maurice, and one hour and 45 minutes' drive from Chambéry Airport.

The unique proximity to Italy allows you to experience both local Savoyard dishes such as raclette, fondue and tartiflette as well as Italian favourites such as pizza, pasta or fontina. There is also a more Italian cultural influence, and should you wish to venture from the resort you can pop over the border to experience a second country all on the same trip!
